Group Residency is a program dedicated to providing space for a rich variety of groups and organizations that seek consistent monthly event space, a community of peers to grow alongside, and a supportive space to further cultivate their offerings.
Group Residencies at New Women Space are given access to dedicated time and space on a once per month basis.
Group residencies rotate on a four month term trimester to ensure diversity of programming and equal opportunity for other groups to apply for space.

Group Residency Requirements
Mission Aligned
Groups at NWS are expected to have a mission and purpose-driven gathering that aligns with NWS values around women supporting women, cultivation of ideas, ambitions and pursuits of women of all experiences, and providing visibility to under-represented voices.
Locally Based
Groups at NWS are expected to be locally based or have active and operating chapters within the five boroughs of New York City. We wish to stimulate and create more meaningful in-person gatherings for the purpose of true community building.
Impact
Groups are expected to help contribute to growing awareness around New Women Space. Group residents should have an established following to ensure that events are well attended.
Group Residency Terms
Length of Stay
Groups at NWS will rotate every four months (trimesters). Groups will have the opportunity to reapply for continuation of their residency at the end of each trimester.
Frequency
Groups will be allocated time and space on a 1x per month basis.
Communication
Groups will be expected to have one main point of contact to correspond with NWS founding team.
Compensation
Groups will be exempt from any up-front rental costs. Groups will be required to have a 50/50 profit share with NWS for ticketed events. For non-ticketed events, we request donations to be collected towards NWS for use of time and space.
Terms of Space
Time
Your designated date and time will be determined based on your application request and availability on the New Women Space master calendar. Groups are asked to arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before their scheduled time.
Self Hosting
NWS staff will train you on how to open and close the space for your event. A NWS staff member will be present for your first event, however you will be expected to self-host the remaining 3 events.
A/V Equipment
Groups will be granted access to A/V equipment by request. New Women Space holds groups liable and responsible for the care of our equipment for continued use by New Women Space and other group residents therein.
Cleanliness
Groups are expected to leave the facilities as they were found. A leave no trace policy is respectfully requested from all event hosts.
