The healing properties of comedy is evident in its spirited cult-like following and the community it hosts, especially here in New York City. By exercising the guidelines of improv, you are exercising muscles to actively cope with stages of grief or loss or even just a bad day. Therefore by practicing improv you are healing yourself, right there in the moment and also exercising muscles of self awareness, active listening, forgiveness, and supporting/connecting with others. If that doesn’t say self love and healing, what does people?! In this workshop we’ll learn improv basics/scene work, do exercises to get us out of our heads and into our bodies, and we’ll reflect on how these tools pertain to our everyday peaks and valleys. Get ready to laugh with a full heart! All levels of experience are welcome.
